Foundation of the Institute of Law and Economics at the University of Montevideo

Last November 24, 2006, Ricardo Olivera García and Carlos E. Delpiazzo participated, as founder members, at the creation of the Institute of Law and Economics. Both of them will take part, with Santiago Pérez del Castillo and Alberto Faget Prati (co-founders), in its first Board of Directos.

The Institute of Law and Economics is an investigation unit which will operate within the structure of the University of Montevideo. Its purpose is to develop interdisciplinary activities of study, research and spreading of the topics related to Law and Economics, cooperating with the different schools of the University in the training and development of their professors and in the research activities that they could make.

The Institute is a contribution to teaching and scientific research of the principal partners of Olivera & Delpiazzo, in the framework of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the beginning of academic activities at the University of Montevideo, in which the founder members of the Institute also participated.
